Farewell... for now

We only have a few days left of school!!! I have been waiting all year until we can get out of school! I am sad to say this will probably be my last post of the school year, but I may keep blogging if I can find time in my busy schedule. I have so many fun things that I plan to do this summer, The Heartland Jam, The Mississippi Valley Fair, OOTM World finals, The Clinton County Fair, etc. But I haven't even mentioned the most exciting thing of all.... (drumroll please).... I'm going to Canada!! By myself! I am going for two weeks in June to see my awesome family, and to have a nice vacation away from the Iowa heat. I am super excited for this trip because I haven't seen my sister, niece, or brother-in-law in forever. I will also be flying alone for the first time, which will be an exciting experience. I hope to blog about some of my summer experiences: Detasseling, babysitting, and the fair. Have an excellent summer, and since I don't know when I'll blog again......
TaTa For Now~ Grace Kathryn Adams

cool quote!

So today I'm doing a quote and some reasons why I like it and why I live by it. My quote is, "Courage is being scared to death, but saddling up anyway"~ John Wayne. I like this quote because it basically says that even though you may be super scared you go for it; and that's real courage. I think that it is very wise to do something that you've never done/ are scared to do because you may regret it in the long run if you don't. When you see a big rollercoaster, or something that you are scared to death to do, then do it anyway!! I didn't do softball this year because I thought I would be really bad at it. I found out I'm actually pretty good at it and it's really fun to play! Now I'm regretting it, and even if I was bad at it, at least I tried.

Week 6

My dream job would be to be a veterinarian. I love animals of all shapes, sizes, colors, and breeds, (except chickens!) and it would be awesome to do something I love everyday. We have 3 dogs, 2 cows, 3 cats, and other animals at our house that I love to be around and take care of. I hope to have my own clinic someday.

Going Global

I am doing my going global post about remembering the Holocaust survivors and their creations. I am doing mine on Petr Ginz who was a type of prodigy stuck in a bleak and hateful prison. He was killed at just 16 in a gas chamber at Auschwitz. Petr wrote a novel when he was 12 that told about the Nazi party and his account of the whole ordeal. His works are now in a film that teaches people how destructive and harmful prejudice is.

Update and awesome blogs!

Ok, sorry I haven't blogged in awhile, but I've been busy and I'll tell you why. So Saturday was my birthday! I finally turned 14! I got my permit and havent ran anyone over.... yet :) For my birthday I got Luke Bryan & Jason Aldean tickets (I have known about them for awhile), Boots :), and a food processer/blender. I also sort of received my white truck for my birthday since I'm legally able to drive it now! I must say, I have the best friends and family ever! I spent the weekend with them and it was awesome!! Even though it's kind of rainy and dreary out, I still have been cheery throughout the whole week :) I'm on a mission also, that is partially why I've been so busy. I'm taking pictures for my friend Bridgit who moved to Texas and sending them to her. I'm taking pictures of every one of her friends (and hopefully teachers) from back here. Today is an early out, which is awesome, and I get to go home and clean, not so awesome. But I'll give you a list of some awesome blogs to check out!!

This is my life poster, it has a Queen of the Night on it, a flower that only blooms once a year. The poster has the words "If you only get one time to shine, make it bright" on it.

Collaborative Writing Intro to Story

This is the beginning of a story that I wrote for a worldwide collaborative writing project that my Language Arts teacher signed up for. It's just the beginning, as other classes were to add on to it, but I did promise to put some of my writing on here. It's about a girl who returns from college and finds that what was believed to be a small nuclear attack turned out to be much worse. Here it is: She stared into the darkness. Nothing. GONE. It was all GONE. Everything she had ever known in her life, as a child, as a teenager, and even now as a young adult. She had heard of the effects of the nuclear bomb on television, but never knew it would impact a small town like Appleton this much. The whole town was gone, wiped out, just like that. All of her friends, family, and her home, were gone. Upon returning from college at Carnegie-Mellon University, She expected minor damage, but as she stared into the rubble, her worst fears became a reality. She didn’t want to think about the details; if they had died a long painful death, or simply never knew what was happening. But then again, she also had never expected everything and everyone she had ever cared about to vanish in the blink of an eye. The real question at the back of her mind that was unavoidable was:
Where to go from here?

How did you like it? Let me know!
